About: | David Chalmers has been passionate about painting the natural landscape since he was a small boy. He is inspired by the magnificent red gums and the changing colours of the Flinders Ranges. The scenery near the Murray River, the saltbush vegetation of the plains, old homesteads and the beaches of South Australia are also favourite subjects for his representational style of painting.
Although in the past, David has tried most media, he has found that the immediacy and vibrancy of soft pastel painting more to his liking in recent times. His mastery of the medium has won him awards and his paintings of the Australian landscape are popular with international tourists.
